$80,000 disaster relief donation for South East on behalf of Freemasons of Queensland

Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the severe weather events in South-east Queensland. This rain event has caused devastation for thousands of households so far and we are not out of the woods yet.   The event spans 17 local government areas and is going to require a mammoth recovery effort.

Following discussions with our disaster relief partner, GIVIT, about the level of need on the ground, we are donating $80,000 towards relief efforts on behalf of the Freemasons of Queensland.

GIVIT will distribute 100% of this donation to trusted community organisations on the ground, making sure people and communities affected by this natural disaster get exactly what they need, when they need it, in the days and weeks ahead.

Community support at this time is crucial and we know our Members want to be part of that support so individuals don’t have to face this recovery challenge alone.

Our new partnership with GIVIT means we can respond quickly on behalf of our Members no matter when or where disasters occur across Queensland.

You can add to this contribution by donating through the Hand Heart Pocket GIVIT Together Disaster Relief Appeal, if you can. The funds you donate will help GIVIT and local community organisations to provide voucher for essentials, like food, fuel and clothing for people in need. It also means funds are spent as locally as possible, helping local businesses.
